The Crane Mat Company has strategically located sawmills across the United States and Canada that construct and supply both new and used hardwood and douglas fir Crane Mats, Timber Mats, Dragline Mats, Bridge Mats, Swamp Mats and Laminated Mats. These mills, along with our combined 25 years of Crane Mat sales experience, have helped us become one of the largest Crane Mat and timber mat suppliers in the nation. We can custom build any Crane Mat, as well as construct any of the standard sizes of timber mat that you may need. In addition, we can supply bolted Laminated Mats as well as nailed Laminated Mats. We can customize the picking points on your Laminated Mats with either chains or cables. We can also get creative with the location of the notches on our Crane Mats as well as adding a chain or cable to your Dragline Mat if that’s what you prefer. Our Dragline Mats are constructed to your specifications as well, or, we have a large inventory of new and used Dragline Mats that are of the more conventional sizes.

Crane Mats

Crane Mats are typically constructed using 12” thick Timbers. These can vary in length from 8’ to 40’ and are 4’, 5’ or 6’ wide. Custom sizes can be constructed. Crane Mats are used primarily for Crane Pads and Bridging.

Dragline Mats

Dragline Mats are usually constructed using 8” thick Timbers and are constructed in standard lengths of 16’, 18’ and 20’ and a width of 4’. Custom sizes can be constructed. Crane mats are often used as Roadway Mats, for Bridging and also for Crane Pads.

Laminated Mats

3-Ply Laminated (Truck) Mats are constructed 6” thick, 8’ wide and lengths of 14’ and 16’ and are held together with either nails or bolts. Laminated mats are primarily used for temporary roadways into hard to get to work sites. They can be used as staging and/or work platforms and are known for leaving the smallest environmental footprint.

Dunnage Mats

Dunnage Mats are usually a lesser grade of Used Mat. These are sold at a discounted rate to be used as Dunnage for equipment. Dunnage mats can be a variety of different dimensions.
